All good things come to an end, so they say, but we didn’t think that applied to Cherry Darling’s Bakehouse (Cherry’s) – Australia’s first 100 per cent vegan bakery. Adelaidians were lucky enough to be blessed by Cherry’s for nigh on ten sublime years, but come January 2024, owner, Tim Salmon decided it was time for a break with the past and a new direction was in order. A brave move by Tim, but a calamity for those that had hankerings for cheeseburger pies, vanilla slices, the fluffiest iced Vo-Vo doughnuts, and lime milkshakes.

Well, never fear, not all hope is lost – there are a number of bakeries in Adelaide that welcome plant-based eaters. Whether you’re craving something silly sweet or something on the saltier side of things, there’s a bakery in Adelaide with vegan options awaiting you – take a look at our guide to 10 of the best bakeries in Adelaide with such things.
